Supporting Your Immune System Through Nutrition

Who is this course for?

The Supporting Your Immune System Through Nutrition course will provide therapists with a better understanding of how food can help prevent disease and support the immune system. The food we eat daily can have a significant impact on our overall health and ability to fight disease. The information on nutrition and the immune system can be daunting. This class takes a simple, “food first” approach to improving your overall health and immune system.

Any practitioner or strength and conditioning coach should take this course if they would like to learn more about how food can support their personal immune system. Also, this course is useful to learn how to council your clients and patients about the fundamental importance of food choices, and how these choices can impact their overall health and immunity. While nutritional supplements can be helpful, they should be suggested by a qualified practitioner after specific testing is performed and should be used to complement a complete and nutritious diet, not make up for a poor diet. This course will give any clinician or strength coach the tools to safely improve their clients health by suggesting foods that will boost the immune system, especially during stressful times.

As a therapist or strength coach…

We were all taught about the basics of nutrition, however, unless you are constantly studying this potentially complicated area of human health and performance, the information out there can be daunting. We know everything from digestion, energy, sleep and injury is related to nutrition. How can we help our patients and clients improve their overall health through food?

We are the ones that are face to face with our clients and patients on a weekly basis. They not only look to us to help with a specific problem, but to improve their overall quality of life. In today’s world of illness and viruses, it is important that we remain at the forefront of nutritional counselling, within our scope of practice, to improve our clients’ lives. Taking a food first approach to supporting the immune system can be a safe and effective way to change our client’s overall lifestyle and impact their health in a positive way.

Are you dealing with patients or clients who experience poor sleep, poor digestion, chronic injury and overall poor health?

We know nutrition can impact our clients sleep patterns, gut health, and inflammation, just to name a few. The foods our patients and clients are eating can have a huge impact, both negative and positive, on the gains they are able to make during their rehabilitation and performance training.

Furthermore, our patients are seeking information on how to stay healthy and avoid viruses and illnesses, now more than ever. The information that is on the internet is confusing, daunting, and overwhelming. If we can offer simple solutions for better overall health to our clients, everyone wins!

Do you want to learn ways to improve the results with all of your patients and clients?

  • Proper food choices can impact the health of you, your patients and your clients in a variety of ways
  • Knowing what vitamins and minerals are important to help the immune system and what foods to find these vital sources of nutrition can be incredibly impactful to our client’s lives and overall health

Learn about…

  • What vitamins and minerals are important for a healthy immune system
