About Dry Needling and Sue Falsone

At SFDN, founder and CEO Sue Falsone founded a dry needling approach that goes by SFDN! This concept is regarded as a combination of skills Sue Falsone introduced and improved over the course of several years in the business. As a real leader in her area of expertise, Sue Falsone was Head Athletic Trainer for the Los Angeles Dodgers organization, which made her the first female to assume the role of Head Athletic Trainer in the 4 major sports in the United States. The the United States Men’s National Soccer team also perceived her competence and made her Head Athletic Trainer.
Objectives of the Class
The purpose of the course is:
- to be able to use dry needling techniques in treating prevalent sports-related ailments;
- to be able to use intramuscular stimulation in treating everyday ortho problems; as well as learn different cupping techniques.
- to get to know the anatomies of the subject so as to make sure they are safe as the clinician is practicing the technique of dry needling on them;
- to be able to handle dry needles in a secure way, and also abide by official health guidelines and rules;
- to acquaint with the health professional the contraindications and safety measures when using the aforementioned technique;
After the course is over, the practitioners will be confident enough to put together their new knowledge in order to treat different pathologies and issues in ortho and sports medicine.
Course Information
[shaker_image]The fee for the seminars is $1295, but one individual can participate in the class at no cost if their sports club or department brings 10 other course participants. It is advisable that the practitioners bring certain things along with them to class: a TENS unit, alligator clamps, and a human anatomy book. The staff supply the needles for all students to use throughout the course. In addition to being in the process of approving CEUs for their upcoming courses, SFDN is licensed by the Board of Certification, Inc. to offer continuing education services to accredited Athletic Trainers. CEUs are mandatory by practitioners in various fields to retain their professional licenses.
Presently, these are the places that offer continuing education classes approved by ProCert for Physical Therapists to earn 26 Continuing Education Units: Phoenix, Arizona.
