[shaker_image]Dry needling, as a combination of skill and art, is performed by a skilled physical therapist who works with acupuncture needles to stimulate the muscles of the athlete. At Structure & Function Dry Needling, founder and CEO Sue Falsone launched a dry needling system named SFDN! The concept is characterized by a combination of skills Sue Falsone developed and improved over a couple of decades in the industry. As a true leader in her area of expertise, Sue served as Head Athletic Coach for the LA Dodgers organization, which made her the first woman in the position of Head Athletic Coach in the 4 major sports in the US. The the US Men’s National Soccer team also perceived her accomplishments and gave her the job of Head Athletic Trainer.
Curriculum
The purpose of the course is:
- to work with acupuncture needles in a secure manner, as well as abide by health rules and regulations;
- to get to know general and respective anatomies of the patient to make sure they are safe as the clinician is using dry needling;
- to be able to utilize intramuscular stimulation in curing commonplace ortho and sports-related problems; and to learn various cupping techniques.

[shaker_image]The price for the events is one thousand two hundred ninety five dollars, although one person is eligible to attend the course at no charge when their sports club or facility sings up 10 other course participants. It is recommended that students bring a couple of specific things with them to class: a TENS unit, alligator clips, and a comprehensive book teaching the human anatomy. The staff provide the needles for all participants to use throughout the course. In addition to approving CEUs for their future courses, SFDN is recognized by the Board of Certification, Inc. to provide continuing education to certified Athletic Trainers. In some fields, Continuing Education Units are required for to keep on working in their industry.
As of now, these are the places that allow you to partake in continuing education events certified by ProCert for Physiotherapists to earn twenty-six Continuing Education Units: Dallas. NATA BOC (National Athletic Trainers’ Association) (P10069) allows the practitioner to get twenty-five Continuing Education Units, Arizona Physical Therapy Association two and a half Continuing Education Units, and Georgia Physical Therapy Association 25 CEUs.
