Sue Falsone and Dry Needling

Dry needling, as a blend of skill and art, is performed by an expert health professional who works with dry needles to stimulate the athlete’s muscles. At Structure & Function Dry Needling, founder and CEO Sue Falsone started a practical dry needling concept called Structure & Function: Dry Needling. This approach is characterized by a combination of skills Sue Falsone introduced and perfected in the course of several years in the industry. As a real leader in her area, she was Head Athletic Trainer for the LA Dodgers organization, which made her the very first female to assume the role of Head Athletic Coach in the four most popular sports in the United States. The the US Men’s National Soccer team also recognized her competence and gave her the job of Head Athletic Trainer.

Curriculum

The purpose of the course is:

  • to get acquainted with both general and respective anatomies of the subject in order to make sure they are safe while using dry needling;
  • to allow the practitioners to employ dry needling techniques when curing various ortho and sports-related pathologies;
  • to use intramuscular stimulation in treating everyday orthopedic conditions; as well as learn different cupping techniques.

The price for the course is one thousand two hundred ninety five dollars, although 1 individual may take the course at no charge if their club or facility registers ten other participants. It is advisable that course participants bring certain things with them: a TENS unit, alligator clamps, and a human anatomy book. The lecturers provide the needles for all students to have during the seminar. SFDN is licensed by the Board of Certification, Inc. to offer continuing education services to certified Athletic Trainers and is at this moment in the process of approving CEUs. Continuing Education Units are mandatory by practitioners in all sorts of fields to keep their work licenses.

Right now, the following cities offer continuing education activities approved by ProCert for Physiotherapists to earn 26 CEUs: Wichita Falls, Texas.
