Who is this course for?

The “Systemic Effects of Dry Needling” course will provide practitioners with a fundamental understanding of how dry needling affects the body systemically and how this knowledge can aid in the outcomes of their patients. Clinical practice can be impacted by the manipulation of the hypothalamus-pituitary-adrenal axis to help prompt the body’s natural healing responses.

Dry Needling practitioners should take this course if they would like to learn the fundamental understanding of the neuroendocrine system and how it can be manipulated to aid in moving the body through the process of resolving inflammation in our patients. Clinical practice can be impacted through dry needling’s impact on the hypothalamus-pituitary-adrenal axis to achieve better patient outcomes.

As a therapist…

You are probably very comfortable talking about the local effects associated with dry needling. However, the most poorly understood effect is the impact we have on the neuroendocrine system. The more you understand about the hypothalamus-pituitary-adrenal axis, the better you will understand these systemic effects of dry needling.

While these systemic effects are generally poorly understood, they tend to be the answer to the most common question clinicians are asked. “How is this working?” or “How did that work when other modalities would not?”

Are you dealing with patients who experience pain and inflammation?

Often, therapists are frustrated with dealing with chronic inflammatory conditions and chronic pain. If we want to have a better understanding of how to best treat chronic inflammatory conditions and chronic pain, we need to understand the effects of dry needling on the hypothalamus-pituitary-adrenal axis.

Do you want to learn ways to improve the results of dry needling?

  • Understand the healing process and what is occurring locally when we apply dry needles to the body.
  • Understand how dry needling stimulates the hypothalamus-pituitary-adrenal axis.
  • Understand how this stimulation aids  the body in resolving inflammation.

Learn about…

  • The local lesion and how it prompts the hypothalamus-pituitary-adrenal axis.
  • How this causes a cascade of 5 processes that impacts inflammation and pain.
  • How these affect patient outcomes through facilitating a resolution of the inflammatory process.

This course is for you if you are you looking to…

Understand how the local lesions created by dry needling are involved in healing processes, Module 1 shows you how.

Understand how dry needling stimulates satellite cells to facilitate the healing of tissues, Module 2 Shows you how.

Understand how the hypothalamus-pituitary-adrenal axis is stimulated through dry needling, Module 3 shows you how.

Your instructor Brian will discuss…

  • Ways to become more comfortable talking about the inflammatory process, and how to apply these concepts to your dry needling practice.
  • The systemic effects of dry needling, and how to apply these concepts to your dry needling practice.
  • How the hypothalamus-pituitary-adrenal axis is integral in resolution of inflammation in the body.
