Seaton grew up in Connecticut in a big family, being the youngest of 7 children. He was introduced to physical therapy at a young age after injuring his knee playing football. After experiencing the process first hand and how it helped to get him back to the activities he loved, it became clear that physical therapy was path for him. Seaton loved the blend of knowledge in science and movement, meeting and interacting with all different types of people and most importantly seeing the transformations of people and having a huge impact on their recovery from injury. He went on to earn his Master’s Degree of Physical Therapy in 2003 at Quinnipiac University, in Connecticut.
After college, Seaton decided it was a time for a change so he packed his things and moved to San Diego, California. He gravitated towards the active community and wanted to be able to help them more than traditional means of physical therapy, the way he was taught in school. He felt there had to be other ways to understand how people were getting injured and why some injuries kept reoccurring. This feeling of wanting to get more out of himself to better help others started his journey towards Function. Seaton was introduced to Applied Functional Science in 2006 and to Functional Movement Systems in 2008 and has continued with his learning and training since then.
While in California Seaton met his wife, who is an Oklahoma native. It was about time for another big change so in 2012 they relocated and moved to Edmond Oklahoma. Seaton was quick to learn and see there was a large active community in Oklahoma. He immediately realized Oklahoma needed alternative to traditional rehabilitation by using a functional and biomechanical approach to rehabilitation, injury prevention and sports performance. Seaton wanted to share his experience, expertise and functional approach to the active community in Oklahoma. So after years of dreaming and planning, Function Physical Therapy was opened in 2015. Being introduced and implementing dry needling into his practice combined with his manual therapy skills and functional approach sets him and his clinic apart from others.
Seaton lives in Edmond with his wife, daughter and son. His interests outside of work include spending time with his family, cooking, running, golf, working out, living and promoting a healthy lifestyle.
