Course offered by Structure & Function Education

In Phoenix, AZ on January 29-31, 2027; Learn Fascial Manipulation Level 4®. This course continues your education in Fascial Manipulation® Method. The Fascial Manipulation® curriculum takes a unique approach by looking at the body as a whole, not just “where it hurts” or where the problems appear to be. Fascial Manipulation® Level 4 helps healthcare professionals to treat the patient in a global way by expanding on their understanding of the biomechanical model to treat patients with multi-segmental dysfunctions more efficiently. This course allow the practitioner to treat musculoskeletal and internal problem simultaneously in complex patients who has visceral-somatic or somato-visceral compensations.

This course builds on the knowledge and application from FM-1, FM-2 and FM-3. For a more detailed course overview view the FM-4 course information page. Healthcare professionals must have completed the FM-3 course prior to taking this course.

The Fascial Manipulation Level 4® (FM-4) course consists of two parts, called FM-4a and FM-4b. This course is a hybrid course that mixes online learning with a multi-day in-person lab involving instruction in and application of the Fascial Manipulation® Method. The first part is completed online before your in-person lab. This is to assure a good understanding of the underlying biomechanical rationale and mastery of the techniques presented in level 4b.

You must complete and pass the exam for the online course before taking the in-person lab. You then need to print your certificate stating you passed these exams and BRING IT WITH YOU TO THE LEVEL 4b LAB.  You will not be admitted to the level 4b lab without your printed certificate. You should allow at least one week between the two parts to allow enough time for your exam to be reviewed.

The in-person course is provided by Structure & Function Education and the online part is through the Fascial Manipulation® Method website. You will receive login information for the online class directly from them. Your course fee includes both parts, no additional fee required to take the online part.

course description

The Fascial Manipulation® Level 4 (FM-4) course consists of two parts, called FM-4a and FM-4b. The first part (FM- 4a) is online and consists of video lectures and exams, while the second part is an in-person course with instruction, demonstrations and lab practicals. FM-4a must be completed 1 week before taken FM-4b to allow the exam to be reviewed prior to attending the in-person part of the course. This is to assure a good understanding of the underlying biomechanical rationale and mastery of the techniques presented.

Fascial Manipulation Level 4 course expands the current fascial understanding to the highest level. The course starts with learning the anatomical divisions of the superficial fascia known as quadrants. These divisions, both in horizontal and longitudinal directions, are due to thickenings of the retinacula cutis that are adhesive to the deep fascia. The area of a quadrant typically corresponds to the distribution of the cutaneous nerves and angiosomes. Within each quadrant, there are all the three superficial components of the systems: receptors, lymphatic vessels and adipose cells.

New manual skills for inspecting the quadrants of the superficial fascia and assessments for the internal systems are learned. Practical exercises, clinical demonstrations and instructor led treatments are included along with current clinical theory and science.
