    per Dr. Ma……..Since the metal is still inside the tissue, e-stim may cause more injury. So no e-stim locally (in the tissue where shrapnel is) for this case, only needling.

    From Sue Falsone: Agreed. Go for the lumbar segment. The issue with the estim locally is traumatizing the tissue by moving shrapnel. No worries at the segmental level. Go for it!

    From Nick Rainey: I’ve seen it done at the segmental level for distal symptoms. I don’t see any drawback doing it.
