About: Sandy is a native of Riverside, IL. She attended DePaul University where she had a successful Division I softball career. Sandy’s team played in two women’s college world series and finished the season in the NCAA Top 25 rankings three out of her four years. After graduating and completing prerequisites, Sandy was accepted into the University of Utah Physical Therapy Doctoral Program. During this time, she was introduced to Pilates through Amy Broekemeier. The principles and science of movement are what intrigued Sandy to delve further into Pilates education.
Since starting at Pinnacle, Sandy has enriched her practice through continuing education, specifically manual therapy courses. She feels proper assessment skills are key to determining beneficial treatment, which is why she has chosen to continue the Pinnacle tradition and take NAIOMT courses. She is constantly amazed at the body’s ability to self-heal when given the proper stimulation and environment.
Sandy has also taken up new athletic endeavors since moving to Utah, biking and hiking all over Utah, and loves going on the occasional “suffer fest.”
