Dr. Lubaway is a licensed Chiropractor with Physical Therapy privileges in the states of Maryland and Virginia. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan where she received a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Studies and Non-Profit Management. While there she also spent time working in a behavioral neuroscience lab where she was involved in the publication of works that focused on memory acquisition and learned behaviors.
She completed her Doctorate of Chiropractic from National University of Health Sciences in Lombard, Il. While there she took extra coursework in a wide array of topics related to Functional Rehabilitation. These topics included Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization which focuses on developmental motion patterns that help children learn to move, and adults learn to move better. She also took additional coursework to hone her adjusting skills through the Motion Palpation Institute. While studying with them she was able to take more specific courses focusing on the overhead throwing athlete and lower quadrant gait assessment. She also studied the Mckenzie Method which is commonly used by PTs, Chiropractors, and other physical medicine professionals. Finally, Dr. Lubaway polished her manual therapy skills by becoming certified in the Active Release Technique (TM). All of these skills help her create a customized approach for her patients.
In her spare time, Dr. Lubaway has coached and instructed swimmers and also competes in triathlons herself. Over the years, her experience with chiropractic care helped improve her own athletic performance and she enjoys helping patient reach similar goals.
