About: Dr. CJ Mimee, PT, DPT, graduated from MGH Institute for Health Professions with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT). CJ’s lifelong love of mechanics combined effortlessly with her training as a yoga teacher, leading her straight into the world of physical therapy, where she now thrives on meeting and helping new people.
Clinically, CJ has enjoyed rotations in inpatient acute rehab and various outpatient orthopedic clinics, both privately-owned and hospital-based. There, she was exposed to various patient populations including cardiovascular, developmental, geriatric, musculoskeletal, neurological, post-surgical, and traumatic (MVA, WC, spinal cord injuries, and injurious falls). With these experiences, CJ has seen first-hand that many factors can be involved in a single case and is ecstatic to have found a company where she can treat the whole person, as opposed to being restricted to one joint or area of the body at a time.
Physical therapy captivated CJ from the very beginning, particularly due to its prophylactic and preventative abilities. Working on “projects” with patients and keeping those injuries/joints and their owners happy is nothing short of rewarding for her. This wellness model and holistic approach to rehab creates patients for life, allowing layering of rehab goals to keep people doing what they love most.
CJ is active in the American PT Association MA Chapter and regularly attends continuing education events with the goal of keeping up on the newest research in the field. CJ offers dry-needling and is looking forward to writing the CSCS (certified strength and conditioning specialist) exam in the spring of 2019 and the OCS (orthopedic clinical specialist) exam in March of 2020.
In her spare time, CJ enjoys gardening and learning languages; knowing French and Greek already and currently working on Spanish. CJ also does yoga, rock climbing, hiking, biking, weight lifting, and continues to try every physical activity possible with the goal of better understanding what it takes for her patients to return to the activities they love.
