About:
Julie has an extensive athletics background having played NCAA Division I soccer at both Penn State and UConn. During her six-year college tenure, she tallied various musculoskeletal injuries including multiple ACL tears. These hardships ultimately propelled her into the field of sports medicine, where she earned her clinical doctorate in physical therapy from Northeastern University.
Throughout her career, Julie has worked with hundreds of high school, college, and professional athletes. She aims to help people of all ages and abilities reach their rehabilitation and sport performance goals, but is particularly passionate about helping injured athletes return to sport after ACL reconstruction. This has ultimately led her to found the New England Return to Sport Center, whose mission is to provide premier out-of-network sports physical therapy and injury prevention services to athletes around the state of Massachusetts.
Julie is an NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). She has also acquired her certifications in Dry Needling for Orthopedic Rehabilitation and Sport Performance (Structure & Function), Sportsmetrics ACL Injury Prevention, Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA), and Personalized Blood Flow Restriction (Owens Recovery Science). She believes in empowering her patients with the self-efficacy needed to optimize recovery. While she enjoys implementing manual therapies, she particularly values the utilization of therapeutic exercise. She appreciates staying current with the literature and applies evidence-informed techniques to practice daily.
