About: Kristen Mostrom (Maiden Name: Hutchins) serves as the athletic trainer for the volleyball and rifle programs at NCSU. Mostrom joined the Sports Medicine Staff in the summer of 2013 after working as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at Eastern Michigan University during 2011-2013 with women’s gymnastics, track & field and cross country and softball.
A native from Livonia, Michigan, Mostrom holds a Master’s Degree from Grand Valley State University in Allendale, MI, in Public Administration with an emphasis in Healthcare. While at GVSU as a graduate assistant, she covered the sports medicine needs for the men’s and women’s cross country and track and field teams along with teaching numerous undergraduate athletic training courses for the ATEP program. Mostrom graduated from Hope College in 2008 where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Athletic Training.
Mostrom is a certified athletic trainer, licensed by the State of North Carolina. She is also a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association & College Athletic Trainers Society.
She is married to Steven Mostrom and has a son, Taegen, along with two black labs named Dutch & Tito. They currently reside in Apex, NC.
