About: Satoshi Iida, a native of Tokyo, Japan, enters his second season with Sporting Kansas City as the assistant athletic trainer.

He graduated from Waseda University in Japan with a Bachelor’s degree in Sports Science with an emphasis in Athletic Training. Following his graduation from Waseda University, he moved to the United States and spent time as an athletic training student intern at Stanford University, where he primarily worked with the Stanford Cardinal Football program. He earned his Master of Athletic Training from the University of Arkansas in 2016. During his two years at the University of Arkansas, he worked for Razorback Football, Razorback Track and Field, Razorback Baseball and Bentonville High School as an athletic training student. He has also completed summer internships with Sporting Kansas City and the Los Angeles Rams (Formerly St. Louis Rams) in 2015.

Iida is a certified athletic trainer in both the United States and Japan. In addition to the athletic training certifications from the National Athletic Trainers Association and Japan Sports Association, he is also recognized as a Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES) and Performance Enhancement Specialist (PES) by the National Academy of Sports Medicine. He also has completed a comprehensive list of continuing education courses (Graston Technique, FRC, PRI, DNS and Dry Needling).
