About: Sean Jones joined the Ohio State University athletic training staff in August 2016 and serves as an assistant athletic trainer for the men’s and women’s track and field and cross country teams.
Jones completed his Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. During his time there he earned a Pioneer Bowl Championship with the Johnson C. Smith University football team as a member of their athletic training staff in 2011. He also was a part of the Charlotte track and field athletic training staff when the 49ers swept the Atlantic 10 Outdoor Conference Championships in 2012.
Jones then attended the post-professional athletic training master’s program at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. While there, he worked as a graduate assistant with the men’s and women’s track and field and cross country teams, men’s wrestling and club sports. He received his master’s degree in Exercise and Sports Science with a concentration in Athletic Training in May 2014.
After completing graduate school, Jones worked as an assistant athletic trainer for Oklahoma State University where he oversaw the health care needs of the men’s and women’s track and field and cross country programs. He also served as the Performance Enhancement Specialist for the distance programs. The women’s team had its best year in school history in 2015-16 and earned the first team title in program history when the Cowgirls won the 2015 Big 12 Cross Country Championship.
Jones is a member of the NATA and PES certified through the NASM and is M-1 Graston Certified as well.
