About: Skylar Richards became the head athletic trainer for FC Dallas on July 11, 2012. Richards joined the club with the help of its strategic partner, Texas Health Ben Hogan Sports Medicine, strengthening the medical team currently serving the club.
Richards’ previously served with the Colorado Rapids as the team’s assistant athletic trainer and head strength and conditioning coach. Prior to joining the Rapids for the 2012 season, Richards worked with the Columbus Crew from 2007 to 2012 as an assistant athletic trainer and fitness and rehabilitation specialist.
A 2006 graduate of Evansville with a bachelor’s degree in athletic training, Richards earned his master’s degree in exercise physiology from the University of Akron in 2008. Richards and his wife Lauren welcomed their first child, Grayson, on May 9, 2013
