Our Dry Needling Program (SFDN) offers a diagnosis-focused approach through foundational and advanced dry needling courses. Dry Needling Courses are taught throughout the country to healthcare and therapeutic pain management professionals from a variety of disciplines to learn effective strategies to manage commonly encountered pathologies in orthopedic and sport rehabilitation, including treatment for the hip flexor, shoulder impingement, hyperextension, and more. Dry Needling Courses are specific for Physical Therapists, Athletic Trainers, Chiropractors, Occupational Therapists, Hand Therapists and other healthcare practitioners.
A curriculum developed by Sue Falsone PT, MS, SCS, ATC, CSCS, COMT, RYT. Current science and research will be presented, along with a vast amount of clinical experience and pearls, allowing immediate application of dry needling into the clinicians’ professional practice.

Foundational Dry Needling Courses
Foundations in Dry Needling for Orthopedic Rehab and Sport Performance (SFDN1)
In this 27-hour lab-based dry needling course, the clinician will learn a diagnosis-focused approach to dry needling. These include fundamental skills necessary for safe and proper needle insertion and removal, as well as effective strategies for therapeutic pain management for commonly encountered pathologies in orthopedic and sport rehabilitation. Foundations in Dry Needling for Upper Extremity Orthopedic Rehab (SFDN-UE)
This Dry Needling Course was Specifically developed for Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapist Hand Therapists- Certified Hand Therapists CHTs, utilizing a diagnosis-focused approach to dry needling the upper extremity including the shoulder, elbow, wrist, and hand. Common pathologies encountered in an outpatient setting will be discussed such as those that lead to impingement and limited range of motion. Explore our course curriculum to learn more. Foundations in Anatomical Dissection (SFDN-AD)
A full-body dissection opportunity, in a more realistic appreciation of tissue quality and fascial connections through utilization of fresh-frozen tissue cadavers. Intended for an improved appreciation for human anatomy as it relates to dry needling safety, we value the relationship of dry needling with other clinical interventions such as manual therapy, therapeutic pain management and exercise, and strength and conditioning. Advanced Dry Needling Courses
Advanced Dry Needling for Orthopedic Rehab and Sport Performance (SFDN2)
Expanding on the diagnosis-focused approach to dry needling and intramuscular stimulation. Further development of the Pentamodal Method introduced in the Foundations Class will be a major focus for this course, emphasizing a whole-body treatment approach to dry needling. Safety considerations will continue to be a priority. Elements of sport performance, recovery and regeneration concepts, and acute injury management will all be included. This is one of our Advanced Dry Needling Courses and part of the Dry Needling Certification Pathway.

Craniofacial and Upper Quarter Dysfunction (SFDN-CUQ)
Integrate dry needling techniques with a diagnosis-focused approach to address craniofacial and upper quarter dysfunction impairments. This course will include diagnoses targeted for Migraines, Headaches, Occipital Neuralgia, TMJ, Thoracic Outlet, Brachial Plexus, and Rib dysfunction. Lumbo-Pelvic-Hip Complex for Sport Performance (SFDN – LPH)
Learn a diagnosis-focused approach to the Lumbo-Pelvic-Hip Complex for Sport Performance with the addition of specific advanced dry needling strategies for the pelvic floor, coccyx, symphysis pubis, hip joint, sacroiliac ligaments, regional nerve dysfunction leading to lower back and pelvic pain. Advanced mobilization labs will focus on lumbar, pelvis, and coccyx techniques, and the integrated approach to dealing with a complex diagnosis will be reviewed through a discussion of case studies, current research, and clinical expertise. Pelvic Health Dry Needling Course
(SFDN-PH)
Diagnosis-based and symptomatic approaches to management of pelvic health disorders in men and women. Advanced dry needling strategies for pelvic health will be presented that have shown favorable clinical outcomes in patients with urinary incontinence, fecal incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, vulvodynia, constipation, urinary retention, dyspareunia, episiotomy scarring, testicular pain, pudendal neuralgia, anismus, and painful intercourse. Thoughtful comprehensive treatment strategies will be offered to help guide the practitioner managing this difficult patient population. In addition, dry needling for the pregnant patient will be discussed and guidelines for optimal outcomes will be considered.
