Has anyone had experience needling a bakers cyst? Here is the answer from SDN provider Jennifer Hallquist:
I have needled around it, but not in it. I found the borders and needled around it with about 10-15 .25 needles with TENS unit attached to 4 of the needles. Patient was cin prone position with approximately 20-25 degrees flexion. I wanted as much “slack” in the tissue, so I propped his ankle to the amount of “relaxed” knee flexion”.
I only did one treatment because he had no more pain/catching after the first treatment, so I continued with strength/functional strength and I did not have to do another treatment.
