I have been suffering from a strain induced right shoulder pain since April 2012. MOI was pulling up a 12 foot 6×6″ post and readjusting it in a post hole when I felt a sharp pain on my right anterior shoulder.
The pain got better but I would have moderate to severe pain with arm elevation with anterior joint clicks that I thought were subacromial.
I tried cupping to my paraspinals (to address LBP) and posterior glenohumeral joint in prone for about 10 mins (To address shoulder pain).
Then in supine using a 2″ cup with over my right humeral head, subclaviculopectoral area (to address shoulder pain) and over xiphoid process (to address tenderness from prior trauma to area). The cups stayed on for at least 8 minutes.
I felt pulse-like sensation for a few seconds over the right humeral head about the first minute and then a soft tissue crepitation immediately after the pulses went away.
After cupping, I post-tested my AROM and was absolutely surprised to find that the right shoulder joint clicks and pain were abolished and my AROM was WNL and completely painfree!
Chronic right shoulder pain resolved in less than 30 minutes.
It would be difficult to argue without any imaging, but my hypothesis is tissue creep resolution over the shoulder joint.
