Someone had asked in the last class a question on the swelling protocol (“30/30”) and if it would work on the stump of a LE amputee patient he was working with. Sometimes the stump would get so swollen that the patient was unable to put their prosthesis on. Here is Dr. Ma’s response:
Definitely needling will help. Randomly needle the swelling area one session every other day for younger patients and twice a week for elderly patients.
