    Hi Everyone!
I just posted an article (or sent it to my web guys..should be up in a day or two) on needle diameter to the general website but wanted to point it out here.

They looked at 3 different needle sizes (up to .9mm…that is like a harpoon!) and found all 3 needle sizes were effective but the larger diameter was more “effective”…pain scores and health survey.

They discuss using such a thick needle, and the lack of willingness for patients to accept a second treatment with that size diameter. I would be apprehensive for treatment #1!

It is a great read across the board. Have a look at it and will be interested in your thoughts. But general evidence for using a thicker needle (even if that means .3 vs .25) vs a thinner needle…keeping in mind safety (#1 ALWAYS) patient comfort, tolerance and willingness to accept treatment stay at the forefront of our tool choice selection.

    Happy reading!

I notice better results with 0.3mm (tissue malleability, ROM, pain reduction) vs. 0.25mm but notice no difference in carry over visit to visit with overall improvements (pain reduction, performance improvements). Would be interesting to start classifying the “dose” . Taking size, time, # of needles in a muscle, any needle play (piston, wind, electric) and then finding the “x” that works best could be valuable.
